Jack graduated from the Choate School in 1976 and is a Harvard graduate with a B.S. degree, majoring in Economics. Jack was member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey team. Jack played for the NHL Colorado Rockies organization (who are currently the New Jersey Devils) from 1980-82.
Jack, as an IOM Member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, owned and operated his own floor brokerage operation on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange from 1987-1993 where he traded and executed clients orders in the S&P 500 futures pit. Together with Mr. O’Callahan, Jack has managed all aspects of Beanpot’s Institutional Brokerage operations. He holds NASD series 7, 24, 27 and 63 licenses and is registered with the National Futures Association as a Commodity Trading Advisor and as a Principal of Beanpot Financial Services. Jack manages and maintains the Boston Office. He has earned the prestigious Chartered Market Technician designation.
Jack graduated Boston Latin School, 1975, and Boston University, 1979. He earned an Olympic Gold Metal as a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Ice Hockey Team in Lake Placid, NY. Following his Olympic experience, he played professional hockey for the Chicago Black Hawks (1980-87) and the New Jersey Devils (1987-89). In 1984, during his professional hockey days, Jack purchased an Index and Options Membership at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and in the years leading up to his retirement spent the off-seasons studying and interning in the futures markets.
Following his retirement from professional hockey in 1989, Mr. O’Callahan spent the next three years successfully trading his own account as a "local" pit trader in the S&P 500 Futures Market. Since 1991, together with Mr. Hughes, Jack has managed all aspects of Beanpot’s Institutional Brokerage operations. Mr. O’Callahan holds the Series 4, 7, 24 and 63 registrations with the NASD and is registered as a Principal of Beanpot Financial Services with the NFA. He is registered with the National Futures Association as a Commodity Trading Advisor. Jack manages and maintains Beanpot’s Main Office in Winnetka, Illinois.
